How Simply Brands brought a fun new impulse lifestyle range to 200 stores nationwide

When Halfords challenged us to bring something fresh and exciting to their stores, we saw an opportunity to do what we do best — design products that make people smile, engage shoppers in new ways, and deliver results that retailers can rely on.

That’s where Fine & Dandy came in.

A Brand with Personality and Purpose

Fine & Dandy is a light-hearted lifestyle brand created with both the customer and the retailer in mind. Blending clever design with humour, the range delivers playful, practical products that resonate with a wide audience. From eye-catching packaging to impulse-buy appeal, every item is crafted to encourage engagement, spark conversation, and drive repeat purchases.

Halfords, known for its automotive and cycling expertise, wanted to tap into a different kind of shopper — the impulse buyer. Someone picking up essentials but open to a little fun on the way to the checkout.

Our goal was to create a brand that could naturally sit within that environment while feeling new, lively, and relevant.

The Brief — and the Challenge

The timeline was tight. We pitched and conceptualised the brand at the start of 2025, and by June, products were already on the shelves.

The challenge wasn’t just speed — it was about balance. We needed designs that stood out but also fitted comfortably within Halfords’ retail setting. The brand needed to feel fun, not frivolous; clever, not complicated.

The Solution — Fast, Focused, and Collaborative

Our team moved quickly from concept to execution, developing over 150 SKUs spanning both fun and functional lifestyle products. From novelty and classic keyrings to witty bumper stickers, phone holders, LED beanies, and umbrellas — each item was designed to catch the customer’s eye and bring a smile.

To support the rollout, we partnered with our UK Distributor and a national Field Marketing and Merchandising company to deliver a strong in-store presence:

  • Bespoke spinner stands for keyrings and bumper stickers across 200 Halfords stores.
  • A custom-designed FSDU for the Fine & Dandy umbrella range.
  • Multiple CDU‘s for other instore, impulse opportunities.

The merchandising team noted that “The stands are already making an impact — designed to showcase products in a smart, accessible way while enhancing the in-store customer experience.”

The Results — Making an Impact

The Fine & Dandy range launched in June 2025, and early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

We’re proud of how the products have been received, not only for their appeal but for what they represent — a smooth, successful collaboration built on clear communication, creative problem-solving, and a shared goal.
